The Literacy Alliance of the Shuswap Society is a non-profit organization dependent upon funding, donations, and support to deliver its community programs. Please contact us to learn how to donate, sponsor, or volunteer at a program or an event.
Here are some ways to help promote literacy within your community:

- Volunteer to be a computer tutor for a local senior.
- Volunteer to tutor adult and ESL (English as a Second Language) learners through Okanagan College.
- Donate good quality books or magazines to the “Spread the Word” Community Book & Magazine Exchange Program.
- Contact Jennifer Findlay, Literacy Outreach Coordinator, for a literacy presentation to your staff, service club, Parent Advisory Committee, or other organization.
- Promote family literacy by spending time reading with your children every day.
- Support your public library. Participate in a local literacy event.
- Model “Learning for life” by reading every day and enrolling in a class or participating in a workshop.
